MomDD - Did you find any decent restaurants during your weekend in Big Bear? If so, I would love some recommendations. Honestly, the only decent meal I've had in the many years of dining there was at the now-closed Iron Squirrel restaurant. The rest have ranged from the low-end of mediocre to horrible.
Songdoc, if you decide on staying in Arrowhead, then I can highly recommend the Bin 189 resturant in the LA resort and the Grill at the Antler's Inn in Twin Peaks www.antlersinnresort.com/Restaurant.html

Isn't there supposed to be a nice restaurant in Fawnskin, on the north shore of Big Bear Lake?
There used to be a nice place at the bottom of Moonridge Road, where it intersects the lake road, called Captain's Anchorage. I don't know if it's any good now, though.

The Log Cabin restaurant has been in Big Bear for years, in the way of the Captain's Anchorage. I think they are under new ownership and getting good reviews.
None of these suggestions are "fine dining", however.
