Lahaina, Maui Hotel suggestions

Looks like I'm not having any luck in finding a hotel for under $150 in this area or Kaanapali area of Maui for the middle of February. Need just a place for just really sleeping because the rest of the time we will be visiting my daughter and her family at the Kaanapali Ocean Resort most of the time. (They couldn't get a suite to fit us in for only 5 people are allowed and there are total 6 of us!) Any ideas? Also, could there be some event happening that caused all the hotels to be sold out?

YOu can get a studio for around $150 at the Noelani Condominium Resort. We have stayed there in the past and we are staying there again next April. The rooms are ocean front but there are only rocks there. There is a small beach off to one side but I don't think it is swimmable. We used to get up really early when we were there. We would take our coffee out and sit and watch the turtles feeding. We loved it which is why we are going back. Hope this helps.

You might also check into vrbo.com ... that stands for Vacation Rental By Owner... friends recently booked a two bedroom condo that slept 6 to eight... not sure of rate, by they were very happy... good luck

our family did OK at Lahaina Shores just to the south on main street of Lahaina. nothing fancy but nice enough, good price, a great location walking distance to town.

Check halekai.com - you might find a studio unit for under $150. Unit 220 will sleep six - although it sounds like your daughter already has her reservation.

I'm going in mid/late Feb and had a hard time finding anything available for that time when I booked back in September. I gather this is high season, and you should start looking hard and take what you can get. VBRO is good, but it is time consuming to check the availability of each condo. You may need to contact an agent or reservation service. Good luck.

We liked Lahaina Shores very much. It is not Fancy, but it was clean and very close to everything. I would stay there again. We had an oceanfront room for $99 a night. It had a kitchen and that was nice also. Awesome views.

My hubby and I stayed at the Guest House in Lahaina. You might want to try them. It was a very nice place to stay and I think we paid $129 a night last June. Their web site is www.mauiguesthouse.com

Thanks to all who responded, but I got the most awesome news this morning when my son-in-law said not to worry, -- our accommodations are taken care of! We will be his guests, along with his parents, at the Westin Maui !!!!! Unbelieveable! He and my daughter decided to use their Points to "gift" us a room! (I think that I will keep him!)

That is absolutely wonderful news. I hope you enjoy the Westin.
