Laguna Beach Hotel
Six of my friends want a weekend away in Laguna Beach. We would like a hotel in the center of town....on the water. Any suggestions. We will be going in mid September. Thanking you all in advance!

On the higher end.....Surf n Sand Resort
or for something more moderate.....The Tides. |
We stayed at The Pacific Edge in March.
The ocean front rooms have spectacular views. |
What is your budget? Laguna does tend to be pricey.
I love Surf and Sand but a September weekend night will run over $600 double. The Tides can likely be had for about $200 or a little more. |
Thanks for posting this question, rickyloo. We are headed to Laguna this May, so I'm searching, too.
Debbie, is The Tides located right in town? Across the street from the beach? It looks great, and is priced well. Management is very responsive, also. I just can't tell where it is. Last time we stayed at Laguna, the little 'motel' was on the beach side of the street, with free covered parking. It was a Pacifica property at the time. We liked that we could walk behind the motel to the ocean walk. But I can't remember if it was the Inn at Laguna Beach, http://www.innatlagunabeach.com or the Laguna Beach Inn http://www.thelagunabeachinn.com Any thoughts on those two, and The Tides? |
(janisj, I forgot you also mentioned The Tides. Thanks.)

Good afternoon.....I started this "hunt" for the hotels in Laguna. I will give you an update on my search.
Inn at Lauguna Beach.....the rates for a room with an ocean view and balcony for September (which was still summer rates) was $530 per night. Parking was an additional $30 per day and there was a $15 a day amenities fee. The location is wonderful. Pacific Edge Hotel....the rates for a room with an ocean view and a balcony for September was $350 per night. It is located about two blocks from the center of town. I strolled through the grounds and it appeared to be a bit "tired" Hotel Laguna...the rates for May 1 thru September 30th ranged from $315 to $355 for Ocean views. The hotel is located at Main Beach and has a Beach Club and private beach for guests. The hotel is a historical landmark....no air conditioning ....but the windows open for a breeze. |
Good research, rickyloo. Which do you like best?
I might look into the Hotel Laguna, but have a good reservation now at The Tides. |
Hotel Laguna has bad reviews for being seriously needing an overhaul. Great location, though.
The Tides management is very responsive and helpful. Parking is included, and rates are low. I'm paying $965 for two rooms, two nights, for four people in June. Great reviews on TA. Did you notice the Laguna Beach Inn? I think that one was the Pacifica property where we stayed once. |
