LADY LUCK HOTEL LAS VEGAS
IM TRAVELLING WITH 5 OTHERS TO LAS VEGAS IN MID MARCH AND WE BOOKED THE LADY LUCK HOTEL THROUGH EXPEDIA.CO.UK AS IT SEEMED TO BE THE CHEAPEST HOTEL. ANYBODY KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT IT, AND WE ARE A BIT CONCERNED AS WEVE FOUND OUT ITS SITUATED IN DOWNTOWN LAS VEGAS WHICH IS A BIT SEEDY AT NIGHT??? ANY THOUGHTS WELCOME

Lady Luck certainly wouldn't be one of my choices. If I were going to stay in the downtown area, the Golden Nugget would be the place to be.

agree with above poster. if it is your first trip to vegas, you should try to stay on the strip. you'll want to be on the strip the majority of the time and going back & forth is rather inconvenient. there is public transport but it can get very crowded or a taxi will cost you about $15 one way and probably wouldn't take all 5 of you at once.

The Lady Luck is in need of refurbishment. The room will most likely be clean, but basic, and not at all impressive.

However, it is located directly on the Fremont Street pedestrian mall and light canopy (known as the Fremont Street Experience).

If you are constrained by your budget, go ahead and stay at the Lady Luck, but don't plan on spending much time there.

I agree with Mikeee007. If you want to stay downtown, try to upgrade to the Golden Nugget.

Caroline --

when are you going? you might be able to do better than Lady Luck.

If I'm remembering correctly, Lady Luck is NOT directly on Fremont Street, although it's awfully close...I think it is actually behind either The Fremont or Binion's. I wouldn't mind staying in one of the hotels on Fremont (I've stayed at The Golden Nugget many times), but I'm not sure I'd relish even that short walk off Fremont downtown at night.

That said, I had a boss at one time who almost always stayed at The Lady Luck and seemed perfectly satisfied with the accomodations. Golden Nugget is going to be the nicest downtown; 4 Queens & Fitzgerald's would be decent & get you right on Fremont St. If you move to the strip, you can probably stay at some of the older mid-strip properties for reasonable prices (Flamingo, Imperial Palace, Harrah's) and they will likely be nicer than Lady Luck.

www.cheapovegas.com has great overviews of all the Vegas casino hotels, including typical price ranges.

I personally like the closeness of the hotels to each other downtown (& the lower limit gambling), so even if you stay on the strip, I recommend a visit to downtown (& likewise, if you stay downtown, make sure you get to the strip.)

have friends who will never stay on the strip..love downtown...I prefer the strip...try The flamingolas vegas.com web site..when are you going?...maybe we can help you here for prices...ditto on cheapovegas.com---you can click on hotel sites from there..Harrah`s is good too..even Barbary Coast(no pool)...don`t think for 1st L V trip I`d do dowtown...what are your dates..?..

KMK is right. I was thinking of the Four Queens! The Lady Luck is a block off of Fremont.

Woops!

Don't walk around there alone late at night, but you'll be ok in a group.
