Ladies' Get-together D.C. area for mid-July
Hi there,
Any suggestions for a nice resort (spa, restaurants) with good shopping close-by? Thanks! |
When you say DC area, what do you mean? I ask because there are not really any resorts per se in DC. You could stay in a nice hotel and go to a day spa. Or you could stay way outside of the city at a place like Lansdowne in Leesburg, http://www.lansdowneresort.com/. I think there may be outlet malls in Leesburg, but I'm not sure because I hate to shop.

Ditto Ruff...not really any "resorts" to choose from in DC proper.
Lansdowne is nice and does have a good spa and a few restaurants at the resort to choose from. There's a new "town center" in Lansdowne that also has some restaurants, but I would head to Leesburg for the best dining options...Tuscarora Mill and Lightfoot are my two favorite restaurants in the Leesburg area. Yes, there are outlet malls in Leesburg. They're nice if you like outlets. Otherwise you have a few boutiques to choose from in Leesburg (can't recommend any) or Dulles Town Center (big shopping mall with standard stores like Macys, Nordstroms, etc). Is Chesapeake area too far? If not, you might want to check out the Hyatt Chesapeake. Beautiful resort with spa onsite. |
There's a Ritz Carlton in Tysons Corner which has a spa and is very convenient to the shopping at the two Tysons malls.

Thank you all very much! Just what I was looking for. We don't need DC proper; that's just the mid-way point that seems convenient. I'll be back with more questions after some research. I really appreciate your help!
