LA to Vegas Traffic
 

Im traveling to Vegas tomorrow leaving Los Angeles around 7:00 pm

How long do you guys think it will take. Thanks

"Los Angeles" is a HUGE area. Where are you driving from?

Terrible timing. You'll spend hours sitting in traffic.Thanksgiving eve is an eastbound nightmare.

Should I leave later than 7:00pm?

Later might be better, but Ihate to speculate. We travel this direction every year at this time(Palm Springs not Vegas)and we now wait until early Thursday morning to depart. Ther will be lots of people headed towards Vegas and there are a few bottlenecks that can slow you for long periods.

I agree with the other posters. Even with no incidents, I-15 between Barstow and Las Vegas can become a long, slim parking lot. Factor in an accident or two, and that always seems to happen in holiday traffic, and it can become a nightmare. The same will be true for west bound traffic on Sunday.

If you can, I'd wait until late at night or early Thursday morning to depart.

KNX 1070 has already reported that traffic heading out the 15 to Vegas is already very heavy this afternoon.
