LA to SF Trip

I was hoping someone could review this itinerary to see if it sounds A OK:

2 Nights in LA
2 Nights in Cambria
2 Nights in Big Sur
2 Nights in Carmel
2 Nights in SFRAN

Anyone have a strong feeling about choosing between the Post Ranch Inn or the Ventana Inn?

Should we stay one night in SBarbara instead of 2 nights in Cambria?

Sounds like a great trip.
There is more to do in Santa Barbara but maybe 2 relaxing days in Cambria would be nice too. The beaches in Santa Barbara are great for sunning and swimming while the beaches in Cambria are better for strolling.
Your choices for Big Sur are great, they are both wonderful. I've never stayed at the Post Ranch and I've only visited a friend at Ventana ,so I can't really say but I've heard that Post Ranch is amazing. Plus it's right on the bluff over the ocean, while Ventana is inland a little.

Thank you. My wife is pregnant and I don't want to run around too much, hence the 2 nights in cambria instead of 1/1 with Santa Barbara/Cambria.

not from CA but it sounds like a lot of running around to me. You know how you like to travel though

I have several Post Ranch albums you are welcome to. I LOVE Post Ranch and Micky Meunnig's architecture. It is so peaceful and beyond beautiful! My number one Absolute Favorite!!!!!
If you have questions I'd be delighted to do my best to help.

Thanks Bodi! I'll check out the pics. We are staying in the least expensive room, the Butterfly. Do you know it? Any other suggestions for things to do in the area?

You don't have too many stops at all. Your longest drive will be LA to Cambria and that shouldn't be too much longer than 3 hours or so. Sounds fun, I wish I was going.

Ewing33- We just finished a very similar trip over the last twelve days. We spent 3 nites in SF,1 nite in carmel, 1 nite in cambria, 1 nite in santa barbara, 2 nites in santa monica, and 3 nites in las vegas. Cambria is very nice yet quiet (not much to do) although moonstone beach is beautiful especially at sunset. i would reccomend one nite in cambria and definately don't miss santa barbara if you have not been there before. We had lunch at sierra mar at post ranch and it was awesome. FPK
