LA to SanFransisco driving itinerary
Hi,
Planning to drive the route in one week during March and have booked the first night in the Morro Bay area. Should I book three nights in Monterey/Carmel and three in San Fran, or go with two in Monterey and four in San Fran? Looking for your help and opinions on this matter. Thanks, Jeff

Two in Monterey/Carmel and 4 in SF if you've never been to SF before. Instead of Morro Bay, you might look at Cambria, a much prettier and more interesting town with Hearst Castle nearby. Have a great trip.

Jeff: We stayed in Morro Bay last Sept. It was the 2nd night of our LA-SF journey, and we quite enjoyed it. Got some pictures at http://community.webshots.com/user/bookhall . Go to the 2nd album.

I'd basically concur with the advice of two days in the Monterey area and 4 in the City. Although you could easily spend three in and around Monterey--there are so many neat places to see.

I would say do three in Monterey and three in SF. There is so much great scenary in the Monterey and Central coast area. SF is nice, but I found it to be somewhat overrated and grimy.

I would stay away from SF totally if it was my decision, but if you want to go there go for only 2 or 3 nights and spend the rest in Carmel.

I also like Morro Bay and would recommend staying there. Cambria is nice too, but I'm not really into shopping and galleries. I would stop there for a visit, but I would spend the night in Morro Bay.

For SF and Monterey, I'd do 3 nights at each place.
