LA sights-no car?!
I'm traveling to LA with my mom in two weeks-we've added a few nights onto my already scheduled business trip. We'll be staying 3 nights at the Beverly Hilton and 3 nights at the Westin Bonaventure.
I wasn't planning on renting a car but am wondering how best to get around. We would like to do the WB tour one day and maybe the Universal City Walk...how would you recommend getting there? Will a taxi work? Or the subway? I could rent a car but the hotel parking is outrageous. Any thoughts? |
LA without a car? Not an option for me!
There are car rental facilities near the hotels that you could use. Pick up and drop off the car the same day. |
From the Bonaventure you could subway up to Universal, then take a $12 cab ride to Warner Brothers...or hop on citybus #96 which brings you about a block from WB. Pretty easy if you don't mind riding the bus.
While at Beverly Hilton, I believe there's a limo that drops you off on Rodeo drive or restaurant row. |
I would definitely rent a car for the day. It's not just a sterotype... people really DON'T walk in LA. :) Everything is so spread out and miles apart, it just makes it easier to drive. You might check with the concierge when you arrive at your hotels to see which places they have shuttles to, before you rent the car.

Yes, the subway is very convenient to City Walk. You take the North Hollywood Train and get off at Universal, walk across the street and then catch a shuttle up the hill.
Getting to WB involes taking switching to a bus. Not bad if you're so inclined to do. |
