La Quita Hotels/Motels.

I am looking for a hotel/motel close to Tampa International Airport for 1 nights accomodation for when we arrive in November, for our holiday.

I am thinking of staying in the La Quinta (Tampa Airport) 4730 Spruce Street. Has anyone stayed there, and what did you think?

Thanks for your comments.
Nic

Oh! I see what you mean I didn't realise I'd made such a mistake, I wondered why I wasn't getting any response!!
Thanks for pointing it out.

I have never stayed at that LaQuinta, but I have stayed at LaQuinta in Orlando. It was just fine - clean & fairly big rooms. My husband stays in them all the time when he travels, and he doesn't have any complaints (and that is saying something!)

LaQuinta's are fine. We've stayed in many across the country, and they're usually clean and comfortable. Nothing fancy, but sufficient when you just need a place to sleep! Most have continental breakfasts included; again, they're not the best (we prefer Holiday Inn Express!) but quite adequate.
Hi again Nic--I drove past it again this afternoon and did notice one possible negative. The end of one of the airport's runways is right across the street from it. That particular runway gets more of the smaller planes but still...now I worry how the noise level will affect you. If it's very well soundproofed you may be OK.

Didn't someone who stayed there answered another note you wrote on this? Perhaps you can find it and hopefully they'll have left a valid e-mail. Other than that, I wouldn't have any hesitation for a one night stay. Remember though...it's utilitarian only. Business area, bordered by car rental places on either side and not much else. Nothing to write home about, but serves it's purpose to let you get some rest after a long flight, pick up a car and head out the next day.

You may be surprised though...we arrived in England on an adrenalin high and despite having only a couple of hours sleep on the plane, set right out like the "Energizer Bunny" that day. You may want to get the car and head to the beach. At the time you come in, it'll only be 35-40 min to St. Pete Beach, no planes to bother you at night and you'll wake up in the morning with white sand and blue waters of the Gulf just outside your door.
