LA Plays

Will be in LA last week of July. Can someone help me with a website that lists plays/musicals that will be playing during that time? I checked the LA Times site, but the info. didn't seem comprehensive. Thanks.

When I am planning a trip to LA I usually look at that LA Times Calendar section, but I agree, it doesn't seem too comprehensive.

The biggest play in town right now is The Producers at the Pantages in Hollywood with Jason Alexander and Martin Short. I saw it about 2 weeks ago just after it opened, it was just fabulous. And the theatre is wonderfully spectacular.

I would check the theatre section of the LA Weekly, which has better coverage of smaller theatres (LA has more actual theatres than NYC, but they tend to be 99-seat Equity waiver houses), the week before you go. The website is, naturally:

www.laweekly.com

Don't rule out a show with the Groundlings-- they're phenomenal!

Click on theatre, then listings.

I saw The Producers on Saturday and loved it!

You might want to check the following website for 1/2 price tickets to some of the smaller theaters in LA. http://theatrela.org/web_tix.html
