San Diego just moved into the orange tier. This is the first weekend there, first weekend for a long time without a 10pm-5am curfew. Nobody really seems to know exactly what will be open or how restaurants will function. Some long-time favorites closed permanently last year, the Crabcatcher for one. I've heard that so many things are reopening at the same time that some are having trouble finding staff. Dinner overlooking the ocean always sounds so romantic, until you remember that when its dark there's not much to see. My all-time favorite is the Ocean Terrace at George's at the Cove. It's open, but with Covid restrictions. Fewer than last week, but still some. You will have to make a reservation and as seating is more limited, that could be tough. I would plan an early dinner so that you can see the view. Of course, that's what everyone else wants too!
