LA Hotel Help
 

Going to LA for 2 days, going to party in Malibu, need Beverly Hills Hotel recommendation. Never been to LA before, I like Westins, Loews, newer younger type. Late 20's type of atmosphere.

Just to play devil's advocate here: Given that you're going to Malibu, wouldn't it make more sense to stay in an area more accessible, like, say, Santa Monica? Beverly Hills is well inland, and I'd estimate that staying there will add 20-30 minutes travel time as opposed to staying in SM.

I don't associate the youthful vibe you seem to be looking for with Beverly Hills-- although you can find very nice hotels there (the Peninsula, Raffles L'Ermitage, Beverly Crescent, Luxe Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hilton, Beverly Hills Hotel, etc., etc., etc.). You could look at hotels in West Hollywood (the Standard, Mondrian, Grafton on Sunset, Le Montrose Sunset, etc., etc., etc.) to get trendier. Note that you'll pay for the privilege, of course.

Loew's and Westin properties in this area are generally either unimpressive or in odd locations, so you might want to think outside that box for good lodging....

I thought of SM too, though I seem to be getting in a dorky touristy mood and thought beverly hills might be fun. I am open to all options really. I saw the Wyndham Bel Age and the Le Meridien in BH, I have no idea really though.

The Wyndham Bel Age is in West Hollywood, a little off of Sunset. Pretty good hotel, all in all. Le Meridien is at the northern edge of Beverly Hills, West Hollywood-adjacent with an LA address. Also a pretty good hotel. Neither is "trendy", but they're nice properties. If you like shopping, Le Meridien is down the street from Beverly Center, and just north of Restaurant Row.

I know you said Beverly Hills, but I just have to tell you that I stayed at the Grafton in West Hollywood (mentioned in an earlier post) and it was probably one of my favorite hotels that I have stayed in. Definitely a trendy feel to it, but also quite comfortable and in a great location. Awesome restaurant as well. They have a bar attached to it which was quite trendy, a bit too much for me, but it was packed every night.
