LA GTG, 5/19, high noon at The Grove

Just thought I better post a separate thread for this GTG since it's getting mixed in with the SF GTG details. Saturday May 19, high noon, at The Grove for lunch, maybe shopping. http://www.thegrovela.com/ I need to get to the Farmer's Market there so maybe I'll be lugging some bags by the time I meet up with you! So far: Me, SeaUrchin, kopp, maybe Paula.

"High noon."

Sounds like a GTG of the Hatfields and McCoys at the O.K. Corral.

I'll be sure to wear my spurs! <)

Western style boots? Yes.

Ten Gallon Hat? Yes.

Pair of six guns? Yes.

Now I'll just have to practice my pistol twirling and ...

Have fun, Mels!

I just checked weather.com but I wanted to get a more accurate reading from you: What's the weather like in LA right now....what should I expect to pack?

Two days of my conference will start out at 6 a.m. with optional walking tours. I'm taking it!! At that time of the morning, is it chilly?

Melissa-I am going to try to make it. I work alot in LA and never have time when I am there to just enjoy it. So a Saturday lunch at The Grove sounds good. Let me know the details.

BTW-just got back from Arizona where we made a short stop in Tombstone. So it will be High Noon all over again only this time in LA.

Yay! Any thoughts on restaurants? I couldn’t find a website for La Piazza or Morels, but the Whisper Lounge, The Farm, and the Wood Ranch had menus that seem to please every palate. Maggianos seemed like a bucca di beppo, am I correct?

ahhh shucks...we were just at the grove last week. I love Maggianos! The one in Philly was great!

We walked by The Farm, looked good.

The American Girl Rest had a premiere shoot or something with several hundred girls and their mothers lined up outside all with their dolls.

Wish we could come!

Aloha!

MelissaHI, seaurchin and kopp-It looks like I will not be able to make the GTG tomorrow. Hopefully someone will look at this thread. I just found out my daughter is coming home for the day from college so I am sorry I won't get to spend time with you all. Maybe next time or we can plan another LA GTG. MelissaHI I will still see you in SF.

Hey, everyone, we had a very nice time today at The Grove! I am full of food, shopped out, and glad to have spent time with some charming Fodorites! Can't wait for Wednesday!

Yes, indeed, a great day with friends! Loved the food and shopping, but especially the company.

(And tonight we played chickenfoot!)

This morning, re-reading my last post, I realize it sounded like we (the 3 of us at the GTG) played chickenfoot.

Sorry. Not so. No photos of chickenfoot. That was back at "home" with mom & dad. (Got them to stay up late... about 7:30, lol!)

Again, thanks for the company yesterday!
