Dodger Stadium is closest to Downtown LA. Having said that, you may not want to stay there, since almost everything else you'll want to do in LA is not in downtown (despite some great restaurants and wonderful hotels). I'd be more inclined to stay on the Westside, or maybe a nice hotel in Hollywood (it'd have to be REALLY nice).

Maybe Pasadena...? Any Angelenos with advice for Loki (I'm a Southbay boy) want to suggest the best location?

Downtown is definitely closest. Hollywood/West Hollywood are not that far, maybe 20-30 mins. in traffic. It depends on what else you want to do while you are here in LA. There are a lot of hotels downtown that are nice, but there's not much going on down there after work, except basketball & hockey when in season and a few nightclubs.

Thanks! Just looking for a place to crash after the game, hopefully with a few casual restaurants & bars nearby.

Downtown is definitely the best area. there is plenty of eating in the area, in Echo Park or in Chinatown.
Loki,

If you are a true Dodger fan, with a 7:00 game start, dont' get there until 7:30. It's important to "make an entrance". Be sure to leave after the 6th inning, that is the high traffic time.

Curious

The hot club & hotel downtown is the Standard at the moment, so you could stay there and party too!! I'm not sure how late the restaurants down there will be open though after the game which would be close to 10:00. Check Digital City for some downtown restaurants and make sure they stay open. Hollywood & West Hollywood are better bets for late dining and clubs.
