La Boheme Cancelled - Trip Locked In - Now What?
As an anniversary gift to my husband, I ordered July 18 tickes to LaBoheme, which he really wanted to see. I made non-refundable air reservations (from Toronto) and non-refundable Manhattan Club reservations, and got tickets to the Sunday matinee of Hairspray.
This morning, there was a report in the Toronto paper that La Boheme was closing June 29. Confirmed this with telecharge - they are refunding those tickets....I'm really disappointed - I still have to tell my husband about this -- can anyone recommend another show to see that we have a hope of getting decent tickets for at this late date? We have already seen Lion King, Mamma Mia, Cabaret, Phantom, Les Miz in Toronto. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Since my wife, her cousin and I were supposed to go on July 5th, I am glad I saw this post today. Gee, you would think they would have the courtesy to post a message on the Web site, wouldn't you?
Ce La Vie, I guess it will be "Long Days Journey Into Night" for us. Oh how great it is to live here!

Sorry, I was referring to bohemeonbroadway.com as the "Web site." However, I see that Playbill provided coverage. Thanks.
I just think it is sad that La Boheme and Urban Cowboy now have something in common.

You can always go see RENT. It's basically an updated version of La Boheme. While the show is closed, there is still PLENTY to do in NY.
I might suggest that you take advantage of one of New York's great summer traditions, Shakespeare in the Park. The shows are outdoors at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park. It's isn't uncommon for a few name actors to be in the shows. Here's a link on how to get tickets, which are free but only given out the day of a show (BTW, if a name actor is in the show, you might need to get in line a few hours before they give the tickets out.)
