L.A and Vegas
Im planning on going to L.A and Las Vegas for a week in December for winter break. Does anybody have any suggestions on what to do in L.A Im pretty sure I can find plenty of things to do in Vegas. My friend told me that Roscoes chicken and waffles restaurnt in L.A is really good. And does anybody have any suggestions for reasonably priced hotels in L.A or Vegas?? Or if you have any tips about Vegas that would be great too. Thanks!

Hotel in L.A. really depends on what you decide to do while you're there, L.A. is vast and you probably want to choose a hotel wisely (location-wise).
Weekdays will be cheaper in Las Vegas, and weekends may be a bit less expensive in L.A. Will you have a car in these cities? When is winter break? The week before Christmas is usually rock-bottom cheap in Vegas, the week afterwards the prices will triple. |
Oh good lord....
There are 1,858 restaurants listed in the LA metro area in the Zagat survey. And your friend's hot recommendation is Roscoe's Chicken & Waffles?!? Granted, it's pretty good soul food, but you don't come to LA to eat soul food. You come here for Asian, Mexican, European fusion, all made with our incredible local produce. You're going to have to pore over the destination guides here on fodors.com and come back with real questions. One thing to recall: LA and Vegas will in all probability be cool. December is still winter out here. You can be surprised-- we had days in January and February in the 80s and 90s-- but odds are, highs will be in the 60s. |
Agree with the previous post about Roscoe's. I would say it's not even the best place in L.A. for soul food. But it's one of those "institutions" in L.A. that you just have to go to if you're there for a visit, just like going to the Pantry or Pink's Hot Dogs, etc.
