Kona Village Resort in October

In my mind, I've been all over the globe already, trying to decide where to go the first week of October. Just want a nice place to relax and veg out with my husband. Considering Kona Village on the Big Island. We don't like high rise resorts so thought KVR would be good. Anyone been there recently?

Didn't stay, drove by as I was chasing a wild herd of donkey's with my camera. It looks very nice. Make sure you don't get it mixed up with a new resort with a similar name.

Islandmom, the KVR I have in mind is the one with the thatched roof "huts".

Yes, the one on the beach. There is one with a similar name in Kona across from the beach not at all the same kind of place.

It looks really nice, and you can do an all inclusive there. We were going to do the luau there, but we will not be there the day they have it.

Have fun.

We have been to Kona Village twice. We got married there. It is the most relaxing place we have ever been to and my husband and I love it. We were there in October and it was nice. They do not have air conditioning but do have ceiling fans. There was a breeze and we were not too hot. Snorkeling there is great and the food is delicious. They have a wonderful luau on Friday nights. Let me know how it is when you get back. Write a trip report. I wish I was going with you.

We're going Oct 1-6. Can't wait. Will report back when we return. I'm very excited. Have wanted to go to KVR for years.

Linda (or anyone else) - are there chairs and umbrellas (or any form of shade) on the beach at KVR?

They definitely have chairs on the beach, and I'm pretty sure the beach attendants would be able to find umbrellas for you. There are lots of casuarina trees(I think that's what they're called) for shade too.

Be sure to check out all the turtles lounging on the beach!
