Kolob Reservoir Trip Utah

Has anyone every drove to Kolob Reservoir starting in Virgin, Utah and driving along Kolob Terrace to the reservoir? How are the roads? Any scary parts with no guard rails?

Hi earthperson,

The scenery is spectacular and well worth the drive. No, not any scary parts. The road is fine. It's a small, 2 lane road maybe with a couple potholes and rough pavement in spots, but regular car is just fine. There are a couple sharp turns at the biggest elevation gain. You will pass through free range grazing so watch for the cattle.

This is the road that is used to access "The Subway" hike. BUT, you cannot do this hike unless you have a permit, basic climbing equipment, and some canyoneering experience. It's 9 mi. one way.
