Knockoff purses

Does anyone know any places in Georgetown that sell knockoff purses from designer labels?--Is it very common for places to sell these knockoffs?

I would check out the street vendors. There are some vendors at the Foggy Bottom metro that always seem to have Kate Spade knockoffs. I am not sure whether the stores in G-town would also carry the bags.

Actually, the guys outside the foggy bottom metro haven't been there in a while - too cold. And for at least the last month they were there they stopped selling Kate Spade knockoffs - I asked them personally. I would say check out some street vendors in Georgetown or Dupont Circle metro, though i'm not sure how many will be out at this time of year.

There is a purse vendor every day (except in excessive rain and snow) at the corner of 19th and M, NW (2 blocks south of the Dupont south exit of the metro).

This is slightly off topic, being as it happened in NYC and not DC, but I bought a Kate Spade knockoff bag for $10 from a street vendor in Manhattan...knew it was wrong, wrong, wrong, but I gave in to temptation and a really cute bag...the vendor pretended to be mad that I'd bargained him down so low and wouldn't give me the fake Kate Spade black label to go on the bag (he was hot-glueing them on right on the spot!)...anyway, my bag got me lots of compliments until one of the handles tore loose after about 2 months...and I figured that a) that was karma, and b) I still got my money's worth! And maybe I'll even get it together to get the bag repaired some day. Good luck in Georgetown! When I lived there there were little hole-in-the-wall shops that sold knockoffs, but when rents went sky-high, they all became street vendors, and they're not allowed on the main drags of Georgetown.
