Knicks tickets for Jan. 2
 

Hello all,

I'm still working on an apartment, but while I'm at it I thought I'd ask if you knew of any trustworthy sources for Knicks tickets. At this late date, the Jan. 2 game against the Pacers have sold pretty well. Is it unreasonable to think I might find 3 tickets in a double-digit section through a broker?

What would be the best way to obtain such tickets at this late date?

There are a lot of places like stubhub.com that are reputable. Did you try the teams website for tickets already? Buying from an individual is slightly risky on places like ebay, but I have bought and sold tickets many times and never been burned. You are less likely to run into a problem with someone like stubhub or knickt-tickets.net, but it will be more expensive than buying directly from someone on say ebay. Also, you may have to wait until virtually the last minute. You'll just have to do a lot of searching. Tickets to sporting events, especially holidays and weekends, can be very expensive.

If the team's website is showing sold out go to stubhub.com. they are a scalper and you will pay a premium - but they have always been reiiable (tickets are real, they deliver s promised and have a good selection). Also- be aware that you might pick up corporate tickets much closer to the date - when the company has figured out no one will be using them.

agree--stubhub.com guarnatees the ticket--yes they are more expensive,but if you have any concerns thats the way to go.BTW,im a huge NBA fan here in Atl, and id think thered be tickets for the Indy team,since theyre not a big draw anymore.My strategy is to wait till the week of the game,maybe a few days ahead,ticket prices drop quickly and stubhub will get you the tickets.The other thing ill do is to use craigslist--ill make a deal and then go meet the person,with someone else with me--if the tickets look real Ill buy them.Of course it may be safer to do that here in Atl than NYC---goo luck

Thanks, friends, for the pointers. Stubhub already has plenty of tickets, so I think I'll wait till the week of the game and see what comes available.

There are other good tout sites like vividseats and ticketgator that have the same type of structure, guarantee and service as stubhub. And MSG ticketing is so tied into a network of scalpers that buying tickets directly is highly difficult for one-off events (or else you get stuck in the 400 sections).

We used vividseats.com for Pearl Jam seats and found a relative bargain price that, even after getting jacked up by commissions, cost about $100-150 less total than anything we found on stubhub in the same area.

And remember that from the bottom of the 100s to the top of the 300s there are only about 12-15 rows so much of the price differences by the touts stems from perception, not actual seat quality.

Finally, remember that the Knicks really stink (I've been a fan for 30+ years) so if you're there for them, anticipate something disappointing so the worst reaction you'll have will be pleasant surprise.
