Klimpton Hotels
What is it that so many people like so much about Klimpton hotels?
|
You mean "Kimpton", I think. For us, they strike a balance between inns and B&B's, which are generally too small and/or fusty for us, and giant chain hotels, which are too impersonal. And they are usually in good locations.
|
I like that they're smaller. I prefer a boutique sized hotel to larger hotels.
I think they do a great job training their front desk staff and their housekeepers. Everyone is friendly and helpful. I like the wine receptions in the evenings, and most of the Kimptons have also had other activities going on for guests during the wine hour. At The George in D.C., each evening, they set up a Wii for the kids, which was great. We've found that they're usually pretty generous with comps: free drinks at the hotel bar or bottle of champagne. Their hotels are in good locations. They create a fun and not fussy atmosphere. |
Each is different and the service is great.

I like the fact that each is different, and that within each, different rooms aren't identical (ex. the Monaco in San Francisco).

Thanks for the comprehensive replies; just what I needed to know. Sounds like the Elysée in New York, which we loved.

[ex. the Monaco in San Francisco] :( The Monaco is no more, new name and not a Kimpton.
Their free reward program"Karma" is very good and has some nice free perks. They are our hotel of choice; their customer service is top notch in every aspect. |
Ha - well, for obvious reasons, I don't often stay in hotels in San Francisco!
