Kirkwood vs Creve Coeur
Just hit town, we are stuck between chosing an apt in downtown Kirkwood or Creve Coeur (N. Ballas Rd area)? Any thoughts. I like the quaint walking community feel of Kirkwood and I like the covenience of just about everything I need in terms of stores in Creve Coeur. Commute is long either way, so no real issue there 25-30 minutes. Early 30's no kids, professional.

Kirkwood - Hand's Down!
This area offers new and old neighborhoods [ new construction and turn of the century Victorian homes] and as you mentioned a quaint downtown. There are many restauratns, shops and is close to an interstate. There are little diners and coffee shops that have been there for years!! Also a great Farmers Market -
Creve Coeur does not offer nearly as much.
There are large chain stores like Marshall's, Tafget, etc... in the south part of Kirkwood as well if that is what you mean by convenience.
GoodLuck!

Kirkwood. I love that it's a small town inside the city. You are 5 min. to Highway 44 and 5 min to 270. But when you are there, you feel like it's a "town".
I love Creve Coeur too! It has more ammenitites but less charm.
You might look into the Central West End area, it's centrally located and very walkable. It's got some great places to dine. This area is just off of Kingshighway.
Also look at Clayton, very quaint. This is were I would love to live.
I would expand the search and look at these two areas.
Clayton is just west of Forest Park, and Central West End is just east of the park. (the park is awesome)
Welcome to Missouri!
