Kingston Plantation, Myrtle Beach
 

Has anyone stayed at this resort? Any comments? Is it worth the money? Looking to go first week in August. Is there a difference between the Embassy Suites and the Condos?

Kingston is a nice, manicured type place. Embassy Suites is on the ocean. Most of the condos if not all are away from the ocean as I recall. This is an elite place to stay in Myrtle Beach with guarded entry. If you just want a hotel on the beach and don't care about the manicured look, try the Myrtle Beach Martinique or the Caravelle on the north end of Myrtle Beach.

We've stayed at both Kingston Plantation, the main high-rise on the ocean, and the Caravelle, also on the ocean. We prefer the Caravelle. The pools are great, it's very family-oriented. Kingston Plan. is VERY nice, but almost too nice, in that I felt more like I was on a business trip than on vacation with my family. <BR> <BR>To each his own, but IMHO, the Caravelle is the best choice. And probably 1/4-1/3 less money, too. <BR> <BR>Have a wonderful time!

Kingston Plantation is probably one of the best places to stay. The Condo's are off the beach (short walk), but like a small apartment. Fully furnished with maid service. the Hotel is on the ocean still in condo layouts, but you probably pay more for the view. The only thing is this hotel is not near the restaurants or downtown Myrtle Bch so you will have to drive. If you want downtown MB, try the Breaker's or Yachtsman. If you want a kind friendly hotel with lazy river and waterslide try Sea Mist Resort. If you are looking for a queit hotel try north myrtle beach. And mini-golf is always fun!

I stayed at the Whyndam Resort on July 4 and am going back labor day. <BR>It is just north of Embassy Suites and I was pleased with it. <BR>They have a band on the weekends and the food at the bar was good. It was $159 a night AARP. <BR> <BR>I also had a very good dinner not to far from the Embassy Suites at Baron's (497-8970)in the Galeria Shoping Center (kroger) on Arrowhead.

Love it! Love it! It is worth the money. It not far from the beach but you will have to drive to restaurants, etc. It has maid service but you feel like you are in your own luxurious home.

You will love it. The entire resort has tons of things to do. Also, Myrtle Beach is totally family friendly. LOTS of shopping for all different budgets, over 1500 restaurants for every taste and budget, more mini-golfs than you've ever seen, world-class golf, movie theatres and on and on. And it is not nearly as "snooty" as other beach communities that don't offer a fraction of the attractions and amusements.
