killington?
We are thinking of going to Killington, VT over the Christmas holiday this year. We plan on renting a condo. We will be 2 couples (we are all in our mid 20's). How is the skiing? The husbands are good skiiers, but we (the wives) have never skiied so would like to learn. Also, how is the nightlife? Can anyone recommend a good company to use for the rental and/or a specific area we would need to be? We'd like to be centrally located! Also, we want moderate accomodations-no roach motels but it needn't be the ritz carlton of condos.
Thanks for any help!

Jennifer, I can't be of specific help, but can tell you that Killington is a world unto itself, with lots of nightlife and restaurants.
If you want to be centrally located, stay in Killington, as opposed to the nearby city of Rutland, which won't have the accommodations or ambiance you're looking for.

Jennifer:

Killington will be great! It will have 20 somethings from Boston and NYC on its slopes and many bars! Nightlife; there is none better on any slopes! Great ski instructors and the largest snowmaking system in case Mother Nature does not cooperate! It will be crowded, however. Use the website and stay on the access road to Killington
Have Fun!
JOHN

We were in Killington 2 years ago over Christmas and New Year. It was packed with a lot of people. Ski conditions weren't that good. I guess for you it won't matter as much since you'll be learning to ski on the bunny slope but for the husbands, not all of the ski trails are open and depending on the weather, they might find it icy. I think last Winter, it didn't even started snowing till February. They have snowblowers but if your husband is like me, I prefer natural powder. We didn't stay at the Killington Village but if you want to check-out their lodging, go to www.killington.com
Goodluck in planning your trip!

Thanks SO much for all of your info! If anyone has any info on specific condo developments or companies that would be great.
As an alternative, is there another area that we should also be looking at? We need something that is in driving vicinity to NYC (where we'll be spending New Year's) and has pretty good skiing and nightlife-we are all around 26! Thanks again, you guys are awesome!
