Kid-friendly winery tour?

Going to Wine Country for a day. Looking for recommendations on what tour to take, assuming we'll only have time for one. Have a four-year-old who will be with us, so what is the most "can't miss" tour that is also kid-friendly? Thanks!

Which wine country are you going to? Napa, Sonoma or Healdsburg? If you're going to the Napa region, the Sterling winery (I think that's the name), has a tram that goes all the way up to the winery on top of the hill and affords views of the valley. Your four-year-old might get a kick out of that. Double check the name I gave you--just ask which winery has the tram. It's well-known in Napa.

(I have little kids, too, so I know your dilemma. I just had the fortunate experience of spending Labor Day weekend in the wine country without the kids.)

Napa for sure. Maybe Sonoma too if time allows. So suggestions for either would be welcome. Thanks.

I think Wine Country in the south of France would be a good choice -- I understand they are "kid friendly" and let 4 year olds partake of the sampling. He'll sleep better that night too. Better than stupid old amusement park rides for a little kid.

I had a response from Neibaum Coppola that said they had refreshments for kids on their tour...I assume they probably mean something like sparkling grape juice. You might email them like I did to ask specifically about this.

LOL, the Sterling tram would be the Napa equivalent of an amusement park ride.

(Actually, since I am not really a wine drinker, I go for sightseeing attractions myself, like trams and garden tours when I visit wineries. :p)

BTW, Sonoma County has a Train Town, where kids can ride a miniature train that goes around a miniature town.

I agree with Sterling Vinyard. The tram ride is fun for the kids, and after the tour, when you are sampling the wines, they give the kids a goody bag with a drink, snack, and coloring book & crayons,stickers,ect.).
