Kid friendly holiday activities next weekend in Philly?
I will be visiting Philadelphia next weekend (Dec. 1 - 2) and am looking for suggestions on something fun for two adults to do with a four year old girl. We would prefer to do something during the day on Friday, Dec. 1. We went to the Nutcracker last year and Longwood Gardens is already in the works, so we are looking for a fresh idea.
Also, I am open to suggestions for a romantic dinner for two Delaware County or Center City. Ideas anyone? Thanks and Happy Holidays! |
You could go across the river to NJ and visit the Adventure Aquarium. The fountain and light show at Macy's would be great for a four year old. Here is a link to some holiday events in Phila.

Franklin Square at 6th and Race has Santa hanging out at the carousel (open for rides), and a Philadelphia themed mini golf course. When I walked thru yesterday, families with very young children looked like they were having a great time.
You could have that as a morning or afternoon activity, and I'd second the Please Touch museum for the other part of your day. For dinner, what's your price range, and any particular type of food? |
I know that this seems odd but if the weather forecast improves, a drive to Cape May, NJ may be very nice. It's a painless drive and the Christmas lights on the Victorian houses are beautiful. You can also add the romantic dinner.
