Kid friendly dining in Seattle
 

Will be in Seattle next weekend and need some dining options: four adults, 3 kids (ages 10mo, 8 and 10yr). The kids are not picky and will eat any type of food. I am more worried about going out and having an hour wait for a table. Lunch and Dinner options would be appreciated. Thanks.

Ivar's! Good for lunch, but you could also eat dinner there. Fast service. Kids think throwing the french fries at the seagulls behind their parent's back is even cooller than the food.

Rainforest Cafe (look it up, I think it's at one of the malls) Very enjoyable for both kids and adults. Usually not a long wait.

Unless it's very casual like Ivars or a fast food place, you will want to make reservations if you don't want to wait loger than 15 minutes.

Also need dining options around ONP. Plan on making dinner reservations...also we don't do "chain restaurants" or any place we could eat in our home state when we are on vacation. We love small mom and pop type of places.

What exactly do you mean by ONP? (towns are helpful)
Bellingham has good restaurants. Port Townsend has several "mom n pop" places.

Oh- saw the "not chain restaurants". Well, I don't know if you can eat at Ivars in your home state- but really, Ivars in Seattle isn't about the food, it's the location (down on the pier) There are tons of places down around Pikes Place Market that would fit your description- it's almost better to simply go to Seattle and find a place that looks good when it's time to eat!

Dick's Drive-in- local burger/shake joint, same as 50 yrs ago.

One place that is definitely "only in Seattle"- Seattle Space Needle, for dinner. Great food, awesome view but expensive, and I don't think I'd take a 10mo. there.

We will stay one night in Port Angeles and another night outside of Forks when we are visiting the Olympic National Park.

In Port Angeles there is an excellent Thai restaurant, Pepper Thai, and in Forks there is a very good Mexican restaurant--Plaza Jalisco.

There are no mom-and-pop restaurants in downtown Seattle. However, we have local restaurants you won't find in your hometown. Where will you stay in Seattle? In what other towns are you seeking restarants.

We are staying in Seattle near 85 St with friends, but they just moved there last week.
Seatttle-3 nights
Port Angeles-1 night-Hurricane Ridge and Fish Hatchery
Fork-1 night-Hoh rain forest, beaches,etc
next night??we are taking a fishing trip from Everett Marina Village and we want to stay close by since we have to be at the boat at 5:00am.
Seattle-2nights
Would appreciate food suggestions near where our friends live also.

By mom and pop, do you just mean independently owned? Everything in the Pike Place Market is ind. owned-chains aren't allowed, and there are tons of fantastic casual places there-just cruise around and see what looks good, especially right along Pike Place (the cobblestone street). Or, search older threads on chowhound.com for Market suggestions.
The kid friendliest place I know is Vios (it's Greek) on Capitol Hill. Google it for info.

When you say 85th, I'm sort of assuming you mean in the Greenwood neighborhood. There's a bunch of order at the counter type places that are fine for kids. Gordito's (Mexican), Pete's Eggnest (diner type place for breakfast/lunch), Red Mill Burgers (at bit south at 68th and Phinney-expect to wait if you go at peak times), Olive You (Mediterranean). Greenwood Bakery (at 73rd and Greenwood) makes sandwiches/soups.
