Keys: Temperature in summer?!

This summer (end of july, begin of august) we will have our vacation in the Keys. But people are telling us that's very hot (the temperature (sic)). We are wondering if you can do something when it is so hot. Are the Keys stil nice?

Expect it to be in the low to high 90's most days and with very high humidity - much like the rest of south FL at that time of year. It may occasionally dip into the 80's and does cool off a bit at night (but not by much). The keys are nice all year round - it's just a question of how well you handle hot, sticky weather. We stayed in KW on July 4th weekend and were glad our room was centrally located in Old Town. Several times each day we went back to the room, showered and took a brief siesta in the comfort of AC. We also sought out air conditioned stores on occasion when walking and browsed the merchandise just to enjoy the cool air. If you're near or on the water (e.g. we went on a snorkeling charter), there's often a light breeze that helps mitigate the heat.

Yes, the Keys are H O T in July and August. Plus, you get the added bonus of high humidity. But, the Keys are great fun. Rent a boat and head out into the ocean. Tie up at a buoy and just relax. Float in the clear water.
