Gosh! Could you be any more vague?

The Moorings, Islamorada. Beautiful, large beach; peace and quiet; several good restaurants within walking distance.

We weren't impressed with Bahia State Park. It was loaded with seaweed at least 2 feet high & stunk. A snorkel trip out to Looy Key National Preserve was great(except 2 of us got seasick) during the 5-6 hour trip. But, it was so beautiful!!!. We stayed at the Sheraton in Key West(outside of the city). It was across from the beach(which was closed due to e-coli1)as were all the other beaches on Key West. Not very impressed with the old city...drunks laying in the street, very dirty. Good if you are into drinking! good luck

Don't listen to Jersey. She has no clue what she is talking about.

Where in the Keys r you going?

Trust everything Jersey said, its the truth! The only thing she got wrong in her reply was its seagrass not seaweed.

It's no secret that people shouldn't go to Key West if they're looking for a BEACH vacation. Or if they don't drink, fish, dive or snorkel, or shop! But the rest of the Keys - Big Pine area is my favorite - are just beautiful. I agree with the Parmer's Resort suggestion.

The Moorings! Beautiful! Don't listen to Jersey. She is always negative.

I only speak from experience. Some negative ,some positive. I'm just sharing my thoughts about my vacation there. Take it or leave it. People ask questions for feedback. If you don't like it. That's your opinion. For my vacation, it sucked.

Why do people assume you have to drink to enjoy Key West? You might as well say you have to be gay as well. I'm not either and I LOVED Key West. Many great B&Bs and tons to see. Check out Curry Mansion or the Pier House (resort). I do agree that it's not great for a beach vacation. The beaches are quite small and mostly coral.

Islamorada is great. Stay at the Holiday Isle if you want live music and outdoor bars. You can rent boats or wave runners there. Have a frozen Bushwacker drink. They're the best, but the Tiki Bar next to the hotel is known for its frozen Rum Runners. Head two doors down to the Whale Harbor Inn for an all you can eat seafood buffet. It's amazing.

Regarding Holiday Isle-The place is a Howard Johnson's a the rooms are dumpy. However, it is a great party place. As to Whale Harbor Inn, it's a buffet people. Overpriced, most of the time the food is cold and taste so-so. IMO, a tourist trap. There are better places to eat and stay.
