Key West Spas

We'll be staying at the Hyatt Windward Pointe for a Girls' Weekend in Key West. We'd like to get massages, but where we're staying seems to be a time-share condo complex, with no spa.

Any recommendations for day spas or nearby hotel spas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Try spafinders.com for a list of day spas and resort spas by location, and maybe post them here for people to give comments.

I hate to tell you this, but the Hyatt Windward Pointe isn't near anything but the airport. It's very new and absolutely beautiful on the outside but the location is really awful. There's another Hyatt timeshare in a wonderful location called the Hyatt Sunset Harbor. It's right in the middle of the action in Old Town...steps away from sunset celebrations and lots of great restaurants and tourist activities. If you particularly want a Hyatt timeshare I'd encourage you to change your reservations. If you're stuck with the Windward Pointe you might investigate the spa at the Pier House, which is next to the Hyatt Resort and Marina on Front Street (another great Hyatt property, but a hotel, not timeshare).

Hi - SusanCS is right. Where you are staying isn't near anything fun! You are totally on the other side of the island. If you can change your reservation, stay somewhere closer to Mallory Square. You won't regret it. The Pier House is a spa as well. Check them out on-line. You can be pampered there, but it might be costly. Good luck!

Thanks for your help. We're not worried about being in the middle of any action. We're not on Spring Break or "girls going wild" or anything We're just 4 friends who live all live in different parts of the country getting together for a weekend away from the hubbies, kids and winter. We actually would like peace and quiet-not tourist activities.
Will check out the Pier House and spafinders. Thanks again.

I didn't mean to imply that staying on the Gulf rather than the Atlantic would indicate you were spring breakers or girls going wild I'm 60 and my husband is 62!

Maybe Key West is easily accessible for you, but for us it's an all day trip, so we like to make the best of the time we spend there. In my opinion, there's no reason to make the trip down to Key West unless you intend to stay someplace that would allow you to enjoy the attributes of the town.

three years ago Pier House spa was just "ok". Hopefully someone with more current info will show up.

Actually better spas are mid-keys, one is extravagant and costs a fortune and I think you have to be a guest: Little Palm and the other is the Indies spa at Hawks Cay. LMF

Yes, I read about Little Palm in Travel and Leisure magazine, it was rated the most expensive hotel in the entire USA. Spa finders turned up no spas in Key West, so we're still searching.

Thanks again for your help.

I passed this question on to someone who lives in Key West and she said that while the spa at the Pier House is not the quality of a city spa, it's really the only one Key West has. She said there are salons where you can get facials, manicures, etc., but the Pier House has the closest thing to a true spa on the island.
