Key West - Southernmost Hotel on Duval - Any Feedback?

Hi All,
We are planning a trip to Key West in March for a friends wedding. We have a recommendation from a the bride-to-be to stay at the Southernmost Hotel on Duvall or Southernmost on the Beach. Has anyone stayed there? Their website looks nice and their rates seem fair. Any insight would be helpful - I'd like to make our reservations soon!

I have never stayed there but had reservations and cancelled for a place close to Mallory Square and in Old Town. We were glad we did as we could walk everywhere in a matter of minutes. There is a lot of info on this site regarding Southernmost. Type in "Southernmost Hotel" up top under "topic" and you will get a lot of helpful information.

I stayed at the Southernmost Hotel and it is a very fair deal. The hotel is pretty, clean, well located, and has a great pool. Some people think it is a little too far from the action at the other end of Duval but I think it is a short walk.

Thanks very much for the information! I think that I will go ahead and make reservations for the Southernmost Hotel- we are going in peak season and their rates are very good. My husband and I love to exercise/walk so I don't think we'll mind the walk to the "happening" area of Duvall. Thanks for all of the input!

Amy,
We stayed at the Southernmost on Duvall in June when the temps were upper 90s and walked to Mallory Square and the shops. We usually took a cab back to the hotel at the end of the evening and it was around $8 for four of us (2 adults, 2 children w/ kids getting 1/2 price)

Our room was nice and comfortable with a patio door opening to the pool. I would definitely stay there again. Have fun!

Have stayed at the Southermost Hotel a couple of times & will stay there again next time I go to Key West. There are attractions to see in the lower end area of Duvall as well as the upper end & walking is the only way to go. I can't imagine seeing this wonderful place any other way. Keep in mind that the walk from one end of Duvall to the other is no more than 15 minutes without stops - it's not a hugh area. You will love the hotel as it is very clean, comfortable, very reasonably priced & in a great location.

The Southernmost Hotel is a good place. It's much quieter than being down on the noisy end of Duval and on the walk you can stop at the Banana Cafe for breakfast -- if it's still there.

We stayed at this B&B at the end of May. It's at the end of Duval St and it's a lot quietier here. You can still walk to everywhere. This place is nice. Some rooms are nicer then other's though. We stayed on the upper floor and it was nice. We had to change rooms while there and stayed in the building out back and it wasn't as nice. I'm not complaining though. The beds were the same, but the first room seemed more cozy. If we ever go to Key West again we'll stay here again without a doubt. The people (and owner)are VERY friendly as well. Have fun!

Now, I'm starting to get confused. There are just too many properties with 'southernmost' in the name. I can think of four right off hand. I think the last poster is talking about a true B&B, whereas the original poster was asking about the property that is more of a motel??? At any rate, they all have some 'curb appeal', and I wouldn't hesitate to stay at any of them. Jean
