Key West Romantic/Relaxing

Hi All,

My Wife and I are looking for a long weekend trip away from the 8mth old. From talking to people Key West sounds great. I will probably stay at one of the BB. Can anyone advise on some nice Private/Romantic adventures we can do while we are there? Also, Any good relaxing spots?

Thanks

My husband and I spent our honeymoon at the Gardens Hotel. The pool area and gardens are beautiful and you could not find a more romantic location.

We've been going to Key West since the early 1990s and the Gardens Hotel is definitely the current darling of accommodations.

If we weren't so hooked on having a water view, it'd be our first choice. I don't think I've ever seen a bad review of it.

There's a dinner excursion called Isle Scapes that is relatively new and is very popular. I know locals who rave about it. islescapes.com

Depending on the night, a hidden gem for supper is to get one of the outdoor tables at the Pier House restaurant, after dark, waterside. You have an ocean view, super private and the food is very good.
Completely isolated from the Duval Street madness just a 100 yards away.

The Pier House is currently undergoing renovations and the primary waterside restaurant is closed and being converted to suites.

The smaller outdoor restaurant is still open and serving dinner, but the one time we tried it the food and service were awful.

For a similar dinner to the old Pier Houose, go next door to Nicolo's at the Hyatt. You can still get a table outdoors overlooking the harbor and the food is good a and somewhat expensive.

check out my recent thread on eating in Key West... for romance, dinner at Lattitudes would be very nice.

Marquesa is one of the nicest BB's on the key. Very romantic rooms ans gardens, the pictures on the website, although very nice, don't do it justice. Their pool area is very beautiful and calm.

We stayed at the Marquesa for our first anniversary and loved it - beautiful and charming, great service, nice pool, and close enough to walk to Duval but very quiet.

I would also recommend the Gardens Hotel. My husband and I are headed there next week for the 3rd time. While we love the hustle and bustle of Duval, it is always nice to come back to the Gardens Hotel to relax and unwind. They a great size pool and the grounds are beautiful.

We can't wait to go back! - Susan

Heron House (not Heron House Court) is wonderful - no kids, beautiful grounds, private sitting areas, nice pool, great breakfast and complimentary happy hour. We've always been more than happy staying there. Alas, when we tried to book this year's trip they were fully booked so we ended up renting a condo in the Truman Annex. Hope it's great!

Like kireland, my DH and I also stayed at the Heron House and loved it for the same reasons. BTW, it's less than a block away from the Marquesa, which has a lovely restaurant.

The Gardens, Marquesa, and Heron House are all fantastic choices.

If you can, head up to Little Palm Island for Sunday Brunch.
