Key West revisited
 

We're starting to plan a return trip to Key West this November. On previous trips we've stayed at Island City House, Ambrosia and Paradise Inn. Nothing wrong with any of the above. In fact, we'd probably return to Island City House, except my favorite room isn't available for all of our travel dates.

So, the question is, does anyone have another favorite B&B? I know Marquesa is considered the 'best', but it's just too darn expensive for me. Heron House doesn't appeal to me either, I'm not sure why.

Does anyone have any experience with Mango Tree Inn? Or Tropic Inn? Thanks for any ideas.

Jean-we're flying out this Thursday. Have 5 days booked at the Curry Mansion. Have you heard of it???

The Simonton Court Inn gets nice reviews on another board.

I would stay away from the Curry Mansion. One of the owners died a few years ago and I understand it just isn't the same. The wife is having a hard time keeping up with it.

Go to keylimeinn.com. We stayed there one year ago last March and loved it!

Also stayed at the Key Lime Inn last year (June), and found it a great base for Key West. Walking distance to pretty much everywhere in the old town, handy for restaurants (Blue Heaven highly recommended), and only $129 for a deluxe room. That was a low season rate though.

Try the Conch House. I live in South Florida and it's my choice when I visit Key West. - www.conchhouse.com. It's close to Duval St. and it's a beutiful old house.

Hi, Try Center Court Cottages. They have a variety of accommodations and prices. Rooms, efficiencies, condos, houses. I rented a house with pool for our wedding. Even had daily cleaning service, unheard of in other house rentals! It was gorgeous and the staff (Cindy, especially) was very helpful. They did offer breakfast to those renting rooms. Have a great time!

I confess I haven't looked back at this thread for several days. Thanks so much for the advice. We ended up booking at Merlin Guest House. We're traveling with another couple and sort of let them decide. I'll let you all know how it is. Jean
