key west or captiva
 

Hi,<BR><BR>My daughter has her heart set on a Fla beach wedding at either Key West - one of the hotels e.g. Hilton or Captiva/South Seas. I haven't seen either place - any recommendations?

First of all there are VERY FEW beaches in Key west so you need to consider that.<BR><BR>Sanibel (I like to call it Sleepybell) has beuatiful beaches, but keep in mind it is a VERY QUIET Area!<BR><BR>Your really looking at 2 very different type of places!

Dave is correct. The 2 locations are so entirely different in regarding the feel and ambiance. Also an absent of beaches in Key West. On a personal note I would choose Captiva. It is a beautiful beach, and location for a wedding. Just my opinion.

Ditto to both previous posts. If the wedding party wants to party go to Key West, if they want a quiet romantic setting with beautiful beaches South Seas. Good Luck to the couple!

I took a honeymoon on Captiva Island. Got divorced a few years later. Take it for what it is worth.

I've been to both and I would definitely choose Captiva/Sanibel. Key West is a party town and the beaches are manmade. Captiva/Sanibel has beautiful beaches and is very quiet.

Both are nice choices but I would choose Key West over the other only because there is so much more to do AND nothing beats the sunset there for a backdrop in those wedding photos! Have a great time!

I agree with choosing Key West. While the beaches are man made, they are nice none the less and would be beautiful setting for a wedding.

Captiva gets my vote. Key West is fun for partying and scuba. Captiva is peaceful, gorgeous beaches and water - and seems classier to me. <BR><BR>If my daughter were getting married on a FL beach, I'd go to panhandle - Seaside. But between Key West and Captiva - CAPTIVA!
