Key West Hotels and restaurants

My wife and I will be in Key West for a few days in late Aug. and looking for a first rate hotel. We stayed at the Wyndham Casa Marina and found it to be a nice place but would like to try something else next time there. Also, any good restaurant suggestions? Been to Shula's and Louie's but also want to try something different but still nice and with a good wine list. Thanks for any help. SRS

We stayed at the Hotel Marquesa and loved it! A wonderful rehab of an old home with new additions -- all very tastefully done. Fabulous landscaped central courtyard/with two small pools. Really serene atmosphere there considering it's a short walk to Duval etc. madness. We did not eat at the restaurant there, though we understand it's wonderful as well. We had a very large lovely room on the second floor of the main/old building for $155 (they SAID they upgraded us from a basic room -- but I had nothing to compare to.) Marquesa was highly rated on this board, in Frommers and others. If you're willing to spend that much, you'll love it.

There is a little bar called Grand Vin on Duval Street that has a very interesting selection.<BR>Mangia Mangia restaurant has a huge list that has won awards from the Wine Spectator and the wine list at A&B Lobster House, 2nd level, has a very interesting list as well.

Blue Heaven! They have a website. That place has excellent food and mega Key West atmosphere!

The Heron House is part small luxury hotel, part B&B. Very nice, and I think that it gives you more of a feel of the area. Alice's at La-Te-Da is an excellent restaurant with terrific seafood.

My husband and I recently returned from Key West and stayed at tne Marquesa. I was top notch. The restaurant was good but my favorite was Cafe DArtis. Don't know if I spelled it correctly.
