Key West Hotel/Resort??
My husband and I want to stay in Key West for two nights. We would like a nice place to relax by a pool or beach and unwind. The Casa Marina is sold out the nights we're there and The Reach only has Jr.Suites available. The Hyatt is available, but at $460 a night. Do you have any suggestions where we should stay? Thank you in advance. Mary

Hi Mary
We stayed at the following and enjoyed the grounds and locatiion very, very much. Room was small but clean. Check out: KEY WEST HARBOR INN 219 Elizabeth Street - Key West, Florida 33040 Phone: 305.296.2978 - 1.800.608.6569 Fax: 305.294.5858 Email: [email protected] The location is terrific. Just around the corner from the marina and a 5min walk to Malory Square for the sunset celebrations. The rooms are clean, the pool and grounds wonderful where they offer a terrific breakfast each morning and a cocktail hour every day 5 to 6 You can also get a good many other recommendations by typing in Key West up top and doing a serch. |
I went to key west in sep of 2003. We stayed at the sheraton resort and had a blast. It is not in the middle of town so it is quieter. But they also have a shuttle that takes guests to and from the center of town free of charge every 30 mins until later in the evening. It is less than a 10 min. ride to town. The Sheraton also features the sweet sleeper bed complete with down bedding. It is more comfy than my own bed. Rooms are very clean. The food at the hotel is good but expensive. The rooms are very reasonable.

Also, look into Island City House, Ambrosia, Cypress House. If you want a more expensive property, check out Marquesa, Heron House, Simonton Court.
I wouldn't stay at the Sheraton, it's a nice looking property, but Key West is all about the atmosphere at the myriad of those tropical B&B's/small hotels. Jean |
We just got back from Key West last Sunday. We stayed at the Southernmost Guest House at the end of Duval Street for 5 nights. We took the most expensive room, it was really an apartment with a small kitchenette (which we didn't need, but was nice to have), a living room, and a king size bedroom with bath. It also had a porch with a swing & table & chairs from which you could see the ocean. The price was $235/nt, including a continental breakfast. We thought it was a real bargain during the high season. Keep in mind that there really is no beach in Key West except for Smathers Beach, which you have to drive to. Hope this helps.

Thank you all, as all your information is a help! Since we will be going down tomorrow, staying with relatives for three nights, then two at a hotel, we have time to check all these places out. I will try to report back when we return. Thank you all for you help, we really appreciate it! Mary
