Key West Hotel

Anyone have recommendations for a good budget-ish accommodations in Key West? It doesn't have to be crazy cheap, but most hotels I see in Key West are extremely expensive, so budget relative to other options. Open to hotel, B&B, rental, whatever. We will have an infant with us, so something baby-friendly would be good. We'd also like to be walking distance to the Westin because we will be attending an event there. The Westin itself is too expensive. TIA!

Rent a cottage with friends or family members attending the event.

Budget and Key West don't go together very well, sorry to say.

Try www.historickeywestinns.com if they are too pricey, then you will have stay outside of old town and drive to the Westin... good luck

I suggest you look at one of the MANY guest houses. There are MORE than 30 of them.

My first thought, too, Dukey, but. I haven't been to or seen a guest house that would be baby friendly. They may exist.

Last I knew Island City House allowed children.

Otherwise, Best Western Hibiscus and Blue Marlin get decent reviews, though, they're probably a mile or so from the Westin.

Thanks everyone. I'll check these out.

I was going to suggest Island City House but I don't consider it to be budget. It is a beautiful place with a nice pool in a garden.

We stayed at the before-mentioned Best Western Hibiscus a couple of years ago when we were in Key West. The rate was among the best I found and we really enjoyed the hotel. Our room was surprisingly large which would work well with an infant.

Take a look at NYAH (Not Your Average Hostel). My writer just stayed there and found it unique and worthwhile. Not all rooms are hostel-like, and it's pretty moderately priced.

I think NYAH is for adults only.

I don't know the policy on infants, so you definitely have to ask. I'm sure they don't supply a crib or anything like that. But it's very true that a lot of Key West accommodations (especially B&Bs) are NOT child-friendly.

There are a lot of apartments for rent in Key West, often at cheaper rates than the hotels. A small studio might do.

Do not confuse Island City House with Island House (gay, clothing optional resort)
