key west hilton
Hi! Would appreciate any info on the Key West Hilton and its guest cottages. Would like to take my family to the cottages - is ferry service good to and from the mainland? Are the beaches good on the island and are the cottages nice? Thanks very Much for any info.

Don't understand your question. You drive all the way to Key West. The islands are connected by a road. I spent several days there, but not at the Hilton. I was in the Old Town area at the a Hyatt I believe. But I went in August and it was way too hot.

Sorry I didn't make myself more clear - been to Key West myself twice and drove both times. Hilton now has a new resort Sunset Key Guest Cottages - which they advertise as a ten minute ferry ride from the Key West Hilton Resort and Marina on its own island.
Any info? Thanks alot.

On my way to Key West for the 2nd time. The first time I rented a house in Old Town. Terrific! This time I'm staying in the Center Court Cottages. VERY affordable.
You'll either fly into Miami (or Ft. Lauderdale) and then rent a car and drive US1 down to Key West (about 3-4 hrs. from Miami) or you'll fly into Miami and catch a connecting flight to Key West. Way too expensive for me! ($1500 per person round trip from Texas)
If I were you I'd look into some of the many cottages and B&Bs and guest houses before I'd check into a big hotel. Those big hotels can be rather sterile and generic. To my taste, anyway.
When you stay in one of the old houses you get the same amenities (in most anyway) but you'll probably pay less AND get to feel the ambience of Old Town Key West to boot! Hope you have a wonderful time!!
