Key West Help

I'm heading down to Key West in July. I am looking to stay at either the Ambrosia House or the Southernmost Point Guest House. Has anyone stayed there and do you have any pros or cons regarding either?

I have stayed at the Southernmost Point Guest house. It is on the quite end of Duval - which also means that it is a bit of a walk to the "busy" areas (if that is what you are interested in.) I recall that it was nice, no negatives about the stay. The avantage is that it is quiet at night. I am not familar with Ambrosia. A search of this forum for Key West will bring up a lot of topics. The SMGH has come up before, and a search will yeild more information for you.

Istayed in KW for July 4th weekend two years ago and although unable to comment on the specific properties in question, I can attest to the fact that if one is a half block or more off Duval Street and not on a main street, it is very quiet. In July the AC in your room is likely to run most of the time and it's unlikely that outside noise will be much of an issue. I was on Centre Street and found the adjacency to Duval and other areas very convenient - it's very hot in Juily and we appreciated being able to take a short walk to the room for a cool shower and a quick nap in the AC to refresh.

We just stayed at Ambrosia House in April and loved it. It was thoroughly relaxing. My husband and I stayed at Ambrosia Too and my parents stayed across the stree at Ambrosia House (all part of the same property). We had a great poolside suite. The room was decorated sparsely, but had a very airy feel to it. The bed was the most comfortable I have slept in for a long time. Breakfast was served poolside which has a very tropical feel to it. Flowers and plants abound. My parents had a huge suite with separate sitting room and jacuzzi outside their door. It was in a great location where we were able to walk everywhere fairly quickly. Also, the owner, Kate, was thoroughly charming. I highly recommend it.
