Key West - Fast Cat or Yankee Freedom

Very mixed reviews on these two Ferry Services to Dry Tortugas. Anyone care to weigh in? We are headed out this week and plan to do one of them when we are in Key West.

Thanks, Jan

I've never done either, but I've heard repeated RAVE reviews about the seaplane trip if you are willing to pay big bucks!

No seaplane for me thanks, big bucks or not....took me many years to get on the big jets!

LOL....well, I'm a white-knuckle flyer, but for some reason that little seaplane doesn't seem to scare me. Who knows why? Life is a mystery :)

Jan, in all seriousness, take a look at the seaplane ride.

You only fly at 500 feet so the view is awe inspiring. To see schools of dolphins from the plane and other fish is unreal.

Also, you get to the Dry Tortugas before the others on the boat get there so you have the island to yourselves for a while.

Also, by the time those that get back from the ferries land in Key West, they are exhausted from an all day ordeal. You will not be.

Please reconsider the seaplane. It really is the trip of a lifetime.
