KEY WEST:All about the pie

We're leaving this Thursday-a question for the natives or regular visitors-

WHERE IS THE FINEST KEY LIME PIE???

And how would we get to the restaurant from the Curry Mansion? Thanks.

Best we had was at Blue Heaven, on the corner of Petronia & Thomas, in Bahama Village. It's a couple of blocks west of Duval Street. However, if you ask 10 different people this question you are likely to get 10 different answers.

My favorite is from the Blond Giraff.

We liked Blonde Giraffe. If you do a search with the key words key lime pie you will find much information and recommendations.

If I can offer a different thought...

Blonde Giraffe is good...but you'll notice on all thier grafitti it says "VOTED BEST KEY LIME PIE IN KEY WEST!!!" and then in small letters (if at all) it says "in 1999"

Since then, a guy named Kermit has been producing a VERY good pie. He has a small shop across from the Conch Republic Seafood Co. (Elizabeth St?) His shop also has a lot of Key Lime influenced foods. When we were in Key West, we thought his Key Lime Pie is the best.

Frankly, no matter where you get it...eating a piece of Key Lime Pie IN Key West makes it better.

Make absolutely sure you try one of the frozen chocolate dippped slices on a stick
