Key West Accomodations

My husband and I are planning a trip to Key West in October or November. We like nice accomodations that aren't full of "fruffy" antiques. We would prefer a B&B or botique inn that has a private jacuzzi, a pool and nice tropical vegetation. We love to eat good food. We don't want to be right in the party district, but would like to be within walking distance. We would like to stay around $200 a night or less.

Suggestions?

Kathi

Kathi-
My wife and I stayed at the Banyon Resort on Whitehead street. It has nice accomodations, two pools,a jacuzzi and an intimate pool bar. The grounds are very tropical and it is located across the street from the Truman White House. We drove to Key West from Miami, parked our car at the resort and didn't move it until the following Saturday when we went home. Here is a link:
http://banyanresort.com/

I think the Eaton Lodge fits the bill. I found the place very quiet, with some very attentive hosts. Very well decorated without being 'chi-chi" or frilly. Has a pool. And is extremely convenient - about 1/2 block off Duval, and about 5-6 blocks from Mallory Square.
www.eatonlodge.com. My favorite place to stay in Key West is the Gardens. Go by there when you're there. Very, very stylish, but very quiet place. Have fun.

Key West Harbor Inn has all those things except the hot tub is not "private" it is next to the pool. We loved the place.

The "Honeymoon Suite" at Jasmine House would be a good choice and fits the budget at $190 per night. I stayed there for a four day weekend in Decembert and we LOVED it! The photos on their website don't really do it justice - it's bigger than it looks and is very nicely decorated in an eclectic way. It's open air on the back (sliding french doors) and has a totally private back yard/deck with jacuzzi. The only thign lacking is a ppol but the owner has an arrangement with the guesthouse across the street and you can use their pool. It was really, truly the nicest place I've ever stayed in. Had TV, CD sound system, DVD player, a grill in the back, a full kitchen, some books to read and was very quiet but you can walk to Duval Street in 2 - 3 minutes (literally).
