Key West

Interested in some recomendations on Snorkeling tours. Bunch to choose from. Anyone gone on an afternoon tour and what are you thoughts. Are some better than others?

I can highly recommend Floridays, which docks at the Hyatt. It's slightly more expensive than the catamarans - which are called "cattle cars" because they're so packed with people - but are well worth it. They limit snorkelers to around 20.

I went twice with Restless Native - small groups (4 or 6). Great experience but skip snorkeling if it's windy - wait for a calm day.

We took a seaplane to some old deserted Fort about 40 minutes west of EYW. The snokeling was wonderful.

Another option is to rent your own boat. It's easy to find the reef. <BR>The fort is Fort Jefferson in the Dry Tortugas. That's a daytrip, but the snorkeling is good.
