Key Largo-Airport
 

Can anyone tell me the closest airport to Key Largo, and the distance between the two? I just saw a good hotel deal and was thinking of going for a few days - never been.
Also, is a car necessary or is public transport easily available? TIA

Closest airport is Marathon. Closest big airport is Miami. And yes, you'll need a car.

Miami is about 1 and 1/2 hours from Key Largo.

Pick Fort Lauderdale Airport over Miami.
Just a bit longer drive but much easier to get in and out of and just better all around. Also usually cheaper than Miami too.

I think the Marathon Airport is General Aviation (private planes) only.

The Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo has an airstrip but it is private.

Miami is the closest airport but FLL a couple of miles up the road is the easiest to get in and out of.

You must have a car. Public transport consists of a Grayhound Bus.
