Key Largo
 

Am interested in going to Key Largo in December. Does anyone have recommendations re: where to stay on/very near the water? Are there good snorkle/shore dive beaches there? All advice is welcome!

Dove Creek is a great place to stay. The best snorkeling is offshore because that's where the reef is. Look at the website for John Pennekamp State Park. THey have a really nice snorkel boat.

We stayed at the Best Western it is now called http://www.suitesofkeylargo.com/.
Nothing fancy but is on the water and is set up like a condo.The bedroom was on the second floor and it had a kitchen,dinning area and a screened in porch with a view of the water.

If money is no object then check out the Kona Kai Resort (www.konakairesort.com). If money is an issue, check out Rock Reef Resort (www.rockreefresort.com), right next door.
