fishinggirl, I've not stayed in Key Colony Beach but did consider it for a stay. We have always stayed in Islamorada because of sentimental reasons. We considered Marathon and Key Colony Beach for a change of pace but couldn't tear ourselves away from Islamorada. BTW, the Upper Matacombe Marina is a wonderful place to dock your boat if you ever need a recommendation.

Yes, the backcountry of Islamorada is tricky but the first time we did it (1986) we hired a local skipper for a couple of hours and haven't had any problems since. We have some great memories bonefishing.

I know I'm not giving you any advice on Key Colony Beach but it looks relaxing, laid back, and Keys sort of fishing fun. If you hear of anything, would you please post? Thanks.
