Key biscayne Ritz
 

Saw some trip reports about this hotel that talked about lots of seaweed on the beach -- but i believe this was during last year's hurricane season. Anyone been there lately that can report if this is an ongoing thing or was storm related?

Seaweed sometimes washes ashore. It is a part of nature and it will not hurt you.

Sorry if i offended you with my question, but lots of folks were complaining wildly about it - thus i thought it was a beach that had nothing but seaweed. As I have two small children, I'd rather hit a beach that has less of it rather than more. If you don't have an answer to a specific question, keep your fingers off the keyboard.

Like GoTravel said all beaches in Florida have seaweed. It depends on its mood. There are times when there is a lot and times when there are less. In all Key Biscayne usually has more seaweed than Miami Beach.

Ever since the dredging project (20 years?) ago the beach at Key Biscayne has been unpleasant. I would stay in Miami Beach instead.

If anyone has an <i>informative</i> answer to jd99''s question I would also like to hear it.

The question is, how frequent and how much seaweed is there at the Key Biscayne Ritz? Living on Long Island I've swam through plenty of seaweed and I'm not afraid of it, but if I'm paying a lot of money I would rather my kids not be bothered by it.

All I can say is that I stayed at the resort a couple years ago, and I don't remember any seaweed issues on the beach.

I stayed there last June and there was no seaweed.

Miami beach is full of seaweed every where! even on the ugly south beach! I was kind so shocked by it actually, 'cause the media just portraits it as this perfect beach!

I would head to California instead; I've never seen seaweed on most LA beaches.
