Kentucky stores
 

I'll be in Kentucky in July. Can anyone tell me in advance where I will be able to find these places--Whole Foods, Bath & Body Works, Sonics drive-in, Wal-Mart? We will be arriving in Louisville then driving to Lexington and want to put these in our itinerary. As long as they are on the way, convenient and not out-of the way. Thanks.

Whole Foods is on Shelbyville Road. So is Bath & Body Works, which is in the Oxmoor Mall. You can fin a Sonic and a Walmart (a regular store, not a superstore) on Hurstbourne Lane. All of these are not far from I-64, the expressway that runs between the two cities.

Can I ask where you are from? You sound like my German father-in-law who would put these things on his list of must-see sights. He walks thorugh Wal-Mart when he is here just to see such things as the envrionmental horror of purchases being bagged in multiple plastic bags and very large people in very tiny clothing :-)

Having said that, Lexington has all but Whole Foods. (They have a Wild Oats Market) All of these things are found on Nicholaville road just south of New Circle Road either in the Fayette Mall or within a few blocks of it.

Actually, I'll bet that every small town between Louisville and Lexington has a WalMart!!!!

If you want to find a Wal Mart get the WM Rand McNally Road Atlas -2006, any of their stores will have one. It will list all the Wal Marts and Sam's Clubs by address and store number, if one is near an Interstate it will give directions as to the nearest exit. The best part of this deal is the Road Atlas, cannot be beat for the price - $4.97...

We have a Wal Mart where we live too, but we stop there when traveling--to pick up incidentals, post cards, snacks & bottle water for the road so we don't have to pack so much, especially when we are traveling with our kids. We have plastic bag trees (outdoor trees littered with Wal Mart plastic bags) and oversized people wearing undersized clothing at our Wal Mart too!
