Kentucky Bourbon tour

We have 3 nights, 2 full days to spend in the Bardstown, KY area. In reading too many sites, can't figure how much time to do what! Certainly a day of touring the bourbon distillers - is one full day enough? Going into Louisville to the Slugger baseball museum - good idea? Then there's the Shaker Village - any thoughts?
Lots of questions! Need help deciding.

How much time you spend depends on how many distilleries you want to visit. You can only visit about 2 a day, they give tours, it is interesting and informative. We really loved Shaker Village, I wrote a little report at: http://www.fodors.com/community/unit...n-kentucky.cfm

For my 2 cents I would take the day & visit Jim Beam & Makers' Mark - Both make excellent bourbon & you get to see the extremes of the industry. By that I mean Makers' does most everything by hand & Beam is a huge place that is very automated.

Makers' Mark was my favorite!

Enjoyed MM (the only one we visited) and LOVED Shaker Village. If Berea isn't too far, it's an interesting town and college. If memory serves, college has hotel and restaurant (where we had a nice dinner).

In Harrodsburg, we had an awesome dinner at Beaumont Inn. This has been quite a few years ago so do check for current info!

I just realized that this is wopel!

Also, forgot to say that we missed the Lville Slugger Museum but have heard it's interesting.

Thought the best tour was Haven Hill's Heritage Center, but they don't actually have a distillary there. Maker's Mark was also very good visit.
